A stockist map for a candle or skincare brand, on the free plan
October 2026
If you pour candles or make skincare and sell through a handful of shops, your customers ask the same question: where can I buy this near me? Here is what other brands' stockist pages look like, how to let shoppers filter by product line, and how to set up a map on Nearmio's free plan.
What candle and skincare stockist pages look like
In October 2026 we read the public stockist pages of a number of candle and skincare brands. Some patterns:
- Many are plain lists. Shop names under state headings, often with no street address, no map and no directions. A shopper has to copy the name into a map app.
- The shops are a mixed set. Home-goods stores, spas and salons, florists, museum shops, a surf shop, a pharmacy, a natural market. One kind of filter will not describe them all.
- Some pages say "call ahead". Phone and opening hours on each listing let a shopper do that before setting out.
- One candle brand marks the shops that also carry products from a related perfume brand. That is a product-line tag, and it is the useful kind.
- Other brands use a map with a radius or distance search, and one adds a tag filter.
- One lists web-only retailers beside physical shops. A map needs an address, so those belong in a sentence of text, not on the map.
None of this tells you what your own shoppers want. It is a look at what exists, so you can pick what to copy.
Tag by product line and store type
A tag is a short label on a location. Once at least one location has a tag, the map shows a dropdown with "All stores" and one entry per tag, in alphabetical order. A shopper picks one tag at a time and the pins and the list narrow to match. Tags are not printed on the cards. With no tags, no dropdown appears.
Product-line tags and store-type tags share that one dropdown, so every tag is an entry a shopper will see. Tag what a shopper would choose between, which means something only some of your shops have or are:
- A line only some shops carry, for instance diffusers or room-sprays for a candle brand, or body-care for a skincare brand whose face range is in every shop.
- A kind of shop, for instance spa, pharmacy or gift-shop.
Avoid a tag every shop has. If all five shops are tagged candles, that entry shows the same five shops as "All stores". Tags match exactly, so Spa and spa are two entries. In a CSV, separate several tags in one cell with |, not commas.
Set it up on the free plan
The free plan covers up to 5 locations with every feature: search, Near me, directions, tags, CSV import and pin fixing. No Google Maps API key and no code.
- Install Nearmio from the Shopify App Store.
- Add your shops. Add them by hand (address, phone, hours, website, tags) or import a CSV from the template. A row needs a name plus either coordinates, a street address with city and country, or a postcode with country. Shops with no address, such as web-only retailers, are skipped.
- Add phone and hours. Both show on each shop's card as you typed them.
- Check the pins. A location flagged "Needs fixing" is not on the map until it has a place. One flagged "Check pin" is on the map but roughly placed. Open either and drag the pin or correct the address. How to fix a pin in the wrong place.
- Put the map on a page. In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes → Customize, open a "Stockists" or "Find us" page, and add the Store locator block under Apps.
- Open the page on your phone and try Near me and a postcode search.

When shop six arrives
- Adding a sixth shop by hand opens an upgrade prompt and the shop is not saved. A CSV with more rows than you have room for imports up to the limit and lists the rest as "Over plan limit"; import it again after upgrading and they come in as new.
- Pro is $9.99 a month for unlimited locations, with a 7-day free trial, billed through Shopify.
- If you cancel, you are on Free straight away and nothing is deleted. The map shows your first 5 placed locations, oldest first, and you cannot pick which five.
- Nearmio is for Shopify and has a fixed layout: you can change the heading, map height and pin colour. Other tools offer free tiers with more locations. If you have a long list and no budget, compare them.
